Paint with music

 

 

This week for the summer learning journey our new task for today was to create an individual art showcasing a picture that was inspired by our favourite music. We first started our task by watching a video showing the way how music art works. Afterwards we got started with our activity, using a website called Sumo paint where we were able to paint our own picture, but before we got started we went on youtube searching up our favourite music to listen to while doing our task. The song I chose was: Dont stop me now (Queen) and We are the champions (Also Queen) and it inspired me to make a picture of a trophy

 

Something I found Interesting was that the songs inspired me to draw a trophy.  

Mode Transport

LI: To correctly draw and label a diagram.

Today we were looking at the change of early and the modern mode of transport. We labeled the different parts of one of the land, sea, rail, and air.
In the Boeing, they have 12 seats for passegners whilst the Emirates have a number of seats for passengers who book their flight.

I found this task interesting because there were a lot of upgrades between the Boeing 80 and Emirates.

An interesting fact I learnt during this activity was that there were a minimum amount of seats (12) in the Boeing 80 made in 1828.

 

The Film Festival

This week on the 8th of November all of PBS went on a trip to hoyts for the Manaiakalani festival  to see other movies that other schools made. The Manaiakalani film festival is when schools make their own films and come together and share them with each other in the movie theaters. My favorite film was Pokeblade a film created by ls1. The film was a mashup of Pokemon And Bey Blade and it was about a boy defeating his bullies with his Pokeblade.

Cinderella

 

 

L.I To rewrite the story of Cinderella using different narrators.

We have been continuing our learning about the different perspectives authors bring to a text. Our challenge today was to change the fairy tale of Cinderella from third person omniscient to 2nd person. Third person omniscient means that the author is not a character but knows what the characters think and feel, 2nd person means Second person is when the narrator use pronouns like You or Yourself.  For example: you were sleeping in 8:50 in the morning in which is when school exactly starts. You wake up super late and you have to run to school and you were just 10 minutes late and you remind your teacher that you arrived.

I found this activity interesting because we had a hard time to write down the story with you, your, yours.

 

 

Scene Description

LI: to describe a scene from a text we have read

We have been exploring the ways writers use words to create mood and atmosphere in a text. I have used my knowledge of different langauge features used to  create mood and atmosphere in this text to help me describe a scene from the text that the character found themselves in.

I found this activity challenging because we used our own words to make our own scene description.

 

First impression

This term we worked 0n a task called first impressions on our google slide. We identified how they looked, how they acted like, and their quotes. We knew this because we watched the movie Charlie And The Chocolate Factory. As we were watching the movie we gathered infomation of what they appear and what their quotes are like.

Charactisation

This week We made a google drawing about charactisation. we did this by gathering all the infomation by researching on google. After some researching, we started to describe the characters that was either, Charlie, Willy Wonka or Grandpa Joe with our own words. Our first attempt was charlie, we then used charlie as an demonstration by reading his text and described how he felt withor without the golden ticket.

Assembly care awards

LI: to present in assemble to talk about a book

This friday I got to go up on stage in assembly to present the book about a nuien superhero. I was sent up stage to present the book with Jaylee . We had to talk about the story . I talked about the story in english and Jaylee spoke in niuean . The book was about a whale and a girl . A girl got eatten by a whale , but the superhero Mataginifale had power to make the whale spit her out the whales throat .

I enjoyed presenting the book ( the artist and the whale ) because it was talking about how mataginifale helped the whale , after the whale had swallowed her .
